Christian McCaffrey got married and had no days off as he shows ripped physique and workout that has made him NFL’s best running back

Christian McCaffrey is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for a Super Bowl.

The San Francisco 49ers superstar married former Miss Universe girlfriend Olivia Culpo in June, which was attended by a ton of famous faces including Niners teammates Kyle Juszczyk and George Kittle.

However, the honeymoon period is well and truly over as CMC has been spotted putting in serious work in a series of Instagram posts.

The 28-year-old recently shared photos of his ripped physique as he completed private running drills ahead of the new NFL season.

The 49ers' open training camp doesn't start until July 25 but the 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year isn't wasting any time in getting back at it.

Run CMC's 49ers reached Super Bowl LVIII last season but came up short against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs who secured a 25-22 overtime win.

McCaffrey is widely regarded as the best running back in the NFL and the Niners stand a good chance of making it back to the Big Game with him in their ranks.

According to the man himself, speed has been a big focus for him this offseason. He does three days on the track and three days doing a combination of pool work, gymnastics and animal movements.

McCaffrey initially prioritizes cardio work - usually 200 and 400 meter running - to get his legs and lungs back.

But he also makes sure he's getting a full body-based program so nothing is getting neglected.

"It's a very track-based program, so there's a lot of track; building speeds is the most important thing,"McCaffrey told Forbes.

"Hence the word running back: speed is important. I'm always trying to maintain speed, to get faster, to get stronger, but also stay athletic."

"While we do a lot of speed training and track training, none of our training is very linear," he adds.

"You move in all different planes. We still cut, we still obviously do football drills and football routes. I think adding some of those supplementary days with the gymnastics where you're doing different role patterns, different things on the mat, animal movements, you're still getting a full body core strength activation without taxing your joints too much."

McCaffrey's success is unsurprising given his dad, Ed McCaffrey, is a three-time Super Bowl winning wide receiver who played for the Giants, 49ers and Broncos over a 13-year NFL career.

Last season, the explosive RB appeared on the Sport Pod Digest where he discussed the extreme lengths his father used to go to to ensure he made it to the pros.

The three-time Pro Bowler revealed his dad would ground him if he was 'jersey tackled' during games when he was seven or eight years old.

Christian added that his father would even cut slits in his pants to give him more knee flexibility when running.

"He had us doing dynamic warm ups, no sodas, bedtime 7:30. They would take our phone till I left for high school," CMC revealed.

"Diet was always important, sleep was always important."

He added that he was still allowed over to friend's houses but when it came to football and school his father made sure he knew the levels required to really excel.

"Friday in my off periods [in high school] he would come pick me up, middle of the day, and get an IV [drip].

"Just sailing IVs game day," he joked.

McCaffrey also added, "he's going to hate me for saying this but it worked."

Last season's rushing yards leader enjoyed a campaign to remember in 2023.

The former Panthers star, sent to San Francisco via a mid-season trade in 2022, rushed for 2,205 yards with 20 touchdowns and caught 119 passes for 1,028 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He was named AP Offensive Player of the Year honors and had eight receptions for 80 receiving yards and a touchdown in the Super Bowl.

McCaffrey was rewarded with a two-year contract extension by the Niners that will keep him in the Bay Area for the foreseeable future and reportedly pay him $19 million per season.
