Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are still football besties.

Some have wondered if international fame will eventually get in the way of one of the best on-field relationships in the NFL.

But even after Taylor Swift took over Kansas City's world and the Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in five years, the early signs from 2024 training camp are encouraging.

First, there's the fact that Mahomes and Kelce still have it on the field.

Video footage from a recent practice showed Mahomes creating space in the pocket and finding Kelce for a big gain.

The 9-time Pro Bowler quickly turned on the jets and celebrated in classic Kelce style.

"Let's go," one fan tweeted.

"Beautiful," a second fan wrote.

"Records on records to break this year for both of them!!" a third fan posted.

But it was a Mahomes tweet that really showed how tight he still is with No. 87.

The New Heights podcast, which is hosted by Kelce and his older brother Jason, posted a throwback video to 2015.

Kelce was interrupted during an interview and his phone went off.

The sound that followed must be heard to be be believed, but it basically sounded like a screaming robot from Star Wars.

"Trav had the greatest ringtone of all time in 2015," New Heights joked.

Mahomes doubled down on his close friend and teammate.

"That man still has that ringtone lol," Mahomes wrote.

Fans loved seeing the special connection between two future Hall of Famers who are attempting to lead the Chiefs to the first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history.

"Don’t be hating on R2-D2!" one fan tweeted.

"You don't pay 99 cents for a ringtone then just get rid of it," a second fan posted.

"That ringtone is wild," a third fan said.

Mahomes, Kelce and the Chiefs will attempt to defend their NFL title starting Week 1 in a 2024 season opener against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
