Terence Crawford has explained exactly why he wants to fight Canelo Alvarez next, and not Jaron 'Boots' Ennis.
The American boxing star cemented his place among the sport's modern greats with his stunning victory over Errol Spence last year.
Now, he is set to move up in weight and attempt to become a four-division world champion in his fight vs Israil Madrimov on August 3.
If he comes through this, Crawford has expressed a desire to jump up a further two weights to challenge Mexican star Canelo for his undisputed super-middleweight world titles.
However, he now has a new challenger emerging in his old division of welterweight.
Unbeaten fellow American Jaron 'Boots' Ennis is now the IBF world champion at 147lbs and is willing to meet Crawford in his new division of 154lbs to make a fight happen.

At this stage though, Boots is only an emerging star and yet to be in any super fights of his own.
Much unlike Canelo who has been competing at the top of the sport since battling Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
Crawford said on the MMA Hour: "Where I'm at right now, I'm looking at the fight that makes the most sense and that's not Boots.
"Canelo's gonna bring way more to my legacy and way more to my bank account.
"Because at the end of the day when boxing is done, what will we have?
"I would have a legacy that's something people talk about for ages.

"And I would have a bank account that would last for ages as well."
Either way, Crawford must first deal with Madrimov to be able to move on to bigger things.
And that will not be an easy task, as the unbeaten Uzbek is a deserving WBA super-welterweight world champion and arguably the best fighter in his division.
