Enzo Maresca revealed his plan for Christopher Nkunku ahead of the new Premier League season.
Chelsea fans only got to see him play 14 times last season, not making his debut until December.
The 26-year-old did not have much chance to show why the Blues spent £52million on him last summer owing to his injuries.
He required knee surgery after picking up an injury in last season's tour of the US and ended up missing 39 games in all competitions.
A new manager gives him a new opportunity to light up the Premier League like he did with RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
Maresca’s biggest issue on the pitch will be trying to fit all of his players into the team and finding their best position.

He said at his first pre-season press conference in the USA on Tuesday: “He can play everywhere, he can play everywhere.
“He’s one of the players that in these two weeks [of pre-season] is doing very, very well.
“He is already taking the way we want to play, that is important.
“As I said, these kind of players for me, they can play winger, they can play attacking midfielder, they can play No.9, they can play in different positions.
“What we are going to try is to try to have players that they can play in different positions, that’s the way I see the football, and also that’s the way I like to work every day to try to improve players and help them not only play in one position, [but] that they can play in different positions.
“Also because sometimes many players say I can play as a winger and it’s for them it’s just there [in one position], but I don’t think if you move them five, 10 metres inside, that there are big changes.

“It’s just a matter of convincing them and to adapt but when they are a good player they can play in different positions.”
Chelsea are currently in the US for their pre-season tour and face Wrexham in the early hours of Thursday morning.
They will play at the San Francisco 49ers' Levi Stadium, with their first training session taking place at the Stanford Stadium, inside the Stanford University campus.
Speaking ahead of that first game, Maresca said: "It is always important to have a connection with the fans. The fans in the US, the fans in England, the fans anywhere.

"We have not had the chance to visit the city because we arrived very late [last night] and we had a session this afternoon. [But] it is always nice to share time with our fans abroad, not only in England.
"As a player or a manager, I have been here many times and it is always a pleasure."
