The transfer window is in full swing and we;ll keep you updated with all the latest gossip and signings as they happen in our live blog.

The window is open until Friday, August 30 at 11pm in England, and Premier League clubs have already spent far more than the entirety of the January window.

Kevin De Bruyne has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but Pep Guardiola insisted he 'isn't leaving', although the Man City boss admits Ederson could.

Ivan Toney will let his Brentford contract run down - unless Tottenham come in for him this summer - while Man United are targeting a Spain Euro 2024 winner and Newcastle are set to sell Kieran Trippier.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are strengthening their defence with the Gunners set to announce the signing of Italian centre-back Riccardo Calafiori, and Aston Villa have splashed out £50m on Amadou Onana and are targeting Joao Felix.

  • Diaby deal done

Saudi side Al Ittihad have confirmed the signing of Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa for a club-record fee.

The Frenchman only spent one season in the Premier League after joining Villa in the summer of 2023 from Bayer Leverkusen.

Our Saudi correspondent Ben Jacobs has more details below.

  • Man United's three-man wishlist

Manchester United have drawn up a three-man shortlist as they look to sign a new left-back this summer, according to the Mirror.

The ongoing fitness issues surrounding Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia has given club chiefs concern and they are keen to bolster their numbers.

It is reported that Feyenoord star David Hancko, former Chelsea and Barcelona defender Marcos Alonso and Crystal Palace's Tyrick Mitchell have been identified as potential options.

Alonso is a free agent after his contract at Barca expired while Mitchell has entered the final year of his deal, meaning he could be available for cheaper than usual.

Hancko, meanwhile, impressed for Slovakia over Euro 2024, including against England in the last 16.

  • Barca clinch deal

Barcelona and Girona have reached an agreement that will see Pau Victor stay at the Nou Camp.

The 22-year-old joined Barcelona B last summer on loan and impressed with 20 goals in all competitions.

And Los Cules have clinched a deal with Girona that will see the striker stay with the club, signing a five-year contract.

  • Toney X Tottenham

talkSPORT's Gabby Agbonlahor believes Ivan Toney and Tottenham are a perfect match.

Toney is set to run down his contract at Brentford if he doesn't get a big move this summer and the Bees are now willing to accept offers of £50million.

Spurs are interested and Agbonlahor discussed the potential move earlier today, saying: “At Spurs, he walks into their team.

“Because Richarlison, he’s not good enough for me for a team that wants to win trophies and fight for league titles.

“Spurs suits him, they’re crying out for a striker as they’ve got so much pace on the wing with Son and Johnson, and Maddison in behind.

“Imagine the service he could get. They’re crying out for someone to get in the box and be brave to get on the end of crosses.

“Toney can come deep if needed too, to link up play and turn on the ball.

“We know Spurs are going to be reluctant to pay £50million when you’ve got a year left and you’re 28 with no sell-on value.”

  • 'He's too good to be not playing'

David De Gea remains without a club after a year out of action following his departure from Manchester United.

And former Premier League goalkeeper Asmir Begovic can't work out how he hasn't signed for another team yet.

“I don’t know, it’s a mystery to me," Begovic told talkSPORT.

“Somehow, someway there’s got to be a team with the right situation.

“As you get older, there are factors that aren’t all to do with football.

“But at the same time, he’s such a good goalkeeper, a Premier League legend.

“I hope he gets out there because he’s too good to be not playing.”

  • Chelsea's new keeper

Chelsea are in the final stages of negotiations with Villarreal for goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, talkSPORT understands.

Jorgensen has already agreed personal terms with the Blues with Villarreal asking for a fee of £21m.

The Danish shot-stopper started 36 of 38 games in La Liga last campaign, keeping six clean sheets.

He will be eyeing a starting spot in the Blues line-up and Enzo Maresca is likely to be bringing him in for that reason.

It leaves Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic set for back-up roles.

  • Posh and Pep

Peterborough owner Darragh McAnthony has revealed to talkSPORT that his club and Manchester City have a great relationship.

The League One side are aiming for promotion this season and are set to sign two City players this summer, according to McAnthony.

He told talkSPORT: “We ended up with a relationship with Man City which was good for us and for them last year.

“You look at the way we play and I’m not saying we’re Man City but the way we play out from the back…

“We had one Man City boy last year and potentially two more coming in this summer.

“So we’re all about good relationships that work for us and those clubs and the great thing about working with City was that they didn’t try and take advantage of us.

“They didn’t try and financially hurt us like other Premier League clubs have done and they were very much on our wavelength.”

  • Closing in on Calafiori

Arsenal are getting closer to securing the signing of defender Riccardo Calafiori, according to reports.

All agreements are said to be in place to allow the move to the Emirates from Bologna to go ahead.

If all goes to plan, the Italian looks likely to join with his new teammates on the Gunners' tour of the USA.

  • Stay or go?

More from Man United and left-back Tyrell Malacia will continue his rehabilitation programme at their training ground rather than jetting off for the pre-season tour of the United States.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a promising first season after becoming Erik ten Hag's first signing in July 2022, but missed the entirety of his second campaign with a knee injury.

Jadon Sancho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Casemiro have been included in the travelling party despite being linked with moves in recent weeks.

Summer signing Leny Yoro has also travelled to the USA but fellow new boy Joshua Zirkzee has not as he continues his post-Euros break.

  • United’s new number nine

Rasmus Hojlund has been handed a new number at Manchester United and will wear the nine shirt in the 2024/25 campaign.

The 21-year-old Dane wore No. 11 in his maiden campaign with the Red Devils but he has now switched to the more traditional number for a striker.

Hojlund returned to training on Monday and will fly out with the United squad for their pre-season tour of the USA on Wednesday afternoon.

United face Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool in the States before their Community Shield clash against Man City on August 10.

Hojlund joined United from Atalanta for £65million last summer before scoring 16 goals in 43 appearances in his first season.

  • Ivan to Arsenal

Former Arsenal winger Perry Groves wants to see Mikel Arteta sign three new first-team players this summer, starting with Ivan Toney.

He told talkSPORT: “Arteta was saying that when you're chasing the title, you've got to keep getting better and better.

“So I always think that you should have three new signings, at least, a season, but those three players have got to be first team players, not squad players.

“I'd go for Ivan Toney. He is obviously very confident, a brilliant character.

“Maybe Arteta thinks that because of the high intensity closing down that Arsenal like to play, that Ivan Toney might not do that. But I think he could.

“I think he's mobile enough. He can drop deep, he can link up. He can drop in, like Harry Kane, when he's at his best.

“And if you're averaging a goal in every two and a half games for Brentford, you imagine the chances you get created when you play for Arsenal.”

  • United to sign 'next Mascherano'

Manchester United target Manuel Ugarte has been hailed as a perfect signing for the Red Devils as they close in on the Paris Saint-Germain star.

talkSPORT understands United have made landing the Uruguay international their top priority after sealing the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro.

South American football expert Tim Vickery told Hawksbee and Jacobs he's the exact type of player Erik ten Hag is missing and compared him with former Liverpool and Barcelona midfield commander Javier Mascherano.

“I can really understand this one," he said. "You looked at United last season and they were so easy to play through weren't they? Opponents were just walking through them - Ugarte would be a man to help fix that.

“He reminds me of a young Javier Mascherano in that he's a tigerish holding midfielder who can play, who can pass crisply and swiftly out of defence. I don't think he's quite as good as Mascherano was at that age, but he's that type of player.

“Marcelo Bielsa [Uruguay manager] thinks the world of him. He even played Ugarte in the last game in the Copa America, started off with him in the back-three - which Guardiola did with Mascherano at Barcelona.

“He’s got that that extra little bit of versatility, which I think is very interesting indeed. I like him a lot. I think it'd be a good buy for United.”

  • ‘Not everything that glitters is gold’

Athletic Bilbao captain Oscar de Marcos has sent a warning to Nico Williams over his potential move to Barcelona.

Euro 2024 star Williams is being heavily linked with Barca while Arsenal are also keen on him.

But De Marcos says Williams should also consider staying put at Bilbao.

He said: "There is a belief that when Barca wants you, there is a logic that you have to go. And if you don't go, you are making a mistake.

“You must keep in mind that not everything that glitters is gold."

  • Bruno no-go

Joelinton believes Bruno Guimaraes will be staying put at Newcastle this summer.

Guimaraes has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United in recent weeks.

But Toon team-mate Joelinton said: “I think Bruno’s going to stay. He tells me he’s going to come back next week [from a post-Copa America break] and get ready for the season.

"I know him, he loves the club. He loves the fans, he enjoys his life in Newcastle. I think he’s glad to be there for his life as well as for football.”

Joelinton has also said he’s happy at Newcastle.

He added: “I’m very happy here, I love the club, the city, my family is happy, I enjoy my life.

"I’m happy to continue my journey here; my hopes are high for the next season. Last season was difficult for me with the injuries but now I want to help us get back up there again.”

  • ‘It's always sad’

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has spoken out about Trevoh Chalobah’s future.

West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in Chalobah after Chelsea left him out of their pre-season tour of the USA.

Maresca said: "From my point of view, it's always sad to leave players out - pre-season, squad, first 11. They work every day for the same target.

"Trevoh situation is quite clear. We have Axel [Disasi], Tosin [Adarabioyo], Wes [Fofana] - who is finally back - some young profiles."

  • Bournemouth boost

Bournemouth are interested in signing Juventus defender Dean Huijsen, talkSPORT understands.

The 19-year-old Spanish centre-back has been left out of Juve's pre-season tour of Germany as they expect him to leave.

Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in Huijsen as well as clubs in the Bundesliga.

Huijsen, who has played one senior game for Juventus, scored twice in 14 loan appearances for Roma last season.

  • Ederson on the move?

Pep Guardiola has admitted Man City star Ederson could leave this summer.

Ederson has spent the past seven seasons with the Premier League champions and enjoyed a trophy-laden spell, but has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in recent months.

The Brazil international has two years left on his current terms and Guardiola acknowledged after a 4-3 pre-season loss to Celtic that there is uncertainty over the future of the 30-year-old goalkeeper.

"I don't know - he has to see maybe now other options," Guardiola told reporters.

"Of course I'd like him to stay. Depends now the clubs. I don't know the situation.

"No contact in the last days. A question of training and being with us until the transfer window finishes and we see what happens."

  • Crooky's round-up

Our chief football correspondent Alex Crook brings you all the latest on Wednesday morning.

    Ivan Toney

The clock is ticking for Brentford if they're to cash in on star striker Ivan Toney.

talkSPORT understands the England international has made it clear he won't sign a new contract at the GTEC Community Stadium, even if he doesn't get that big money move this summer.

The Bees are now willing to accept offers as little as £50m with Tottenham and West Ham, both potential destinations.

    Jesper Lindtrom

Everton's latest takeover may have collapsed but that's not stopping Sean Dyche from adding to his squad.

The Toffees are close to completing a deal for Napoli midfielder Jesper Lindstrom. that will be a loan move initially with the option of a permanent £18m transfer at the end of the season.

    Man United targets

Manchester United meanwhile have added two new midfielders to their summer search in the form of the Spanish Euro 2024 winner Martin Zubimendi. He has a £50m release clause in his Real Sociedad contract.

Another option for Old Trafford is the Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

  • David's plan

David de Gea would consider a return to Manchester United, but only if two leading figures were no longer at the club.

The Athletic report that De Gea would be happy to go back if Erik ten Hag and John Murtough were no longer at the club.

He was said to be upset with those he believes were responsible for his departure.

De Gea posted a picture of a timer in recent days, suggesting he will finally join a new club.

The 33-year-old sat out the entire 2023/24 season.

  • Making moves?

Leicester boss Steve Cooper says they definitely need to bring in some more players this summer.

The Foxes have made four signings this window, with Bobby Decordova-Reid, Abdul Fatawu, Michael Golding and Caleb Okoli all walking through the door.

When asked about any more incomings after Leicester's pre-season win over Shrewsbury tonight, Cooper said: "We definitely have to bring players in, that's for sure, and everybody knows that.

"Sometimes it's not easy to do and I understand that as well. You've got to bring the right players in.

"But we've got to make sure when that first game comes we're in with a chance of being able to what we need to do in the Premier League.

"It's not as clear as saying we need players in this and that position... there are certain profiles of players and attributes we need and I'm clear on that.

"I'm not going to say we need x amount of players because if you get more it sounds like there's no plan. There's a clear plan and hopefully we can get a few signings over the line and like all managers say, the quicker, the better."

Talks over a new deal have yet to start, with Tottenham and West Ham the two most interested Premier League teams, and the striker is hoping Spurs make a move.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia are also keen on the former Peterborough forward, who had been a target for Arsenal in January.
